Skopia requires macOS 13.5 (Ventura) or later. Runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

v1.2 · ~5 MB
Common issues

Quick answers

1. Make sure you dragged Skopia to your Applications folder before launching — running directly from the disk image (.dmg) can cause issues.

2. Check System Settings → Privacy & Security → make sure Skopia is allowed to run.

3. If you see "Apple cannot check it for malicious software" — click Open Anyway in Privacy & Security. This is normal for apps distributed outside the App Store.

4. Still nothing? Email us and we'll sort it out.

Check your spam folder first — automated emails from payment processors sometimes land there.

If it's not there, email us at [email protected] with the email address you used at checkout. We'll resend your link within a few hours.

Since v1.2 this is deliberate. Full screen is one of the pause conditions, and it is on by default — a reminder over a game, a film or a presentation is an interruption, not a nudge.

If you want reminders to keep firing in full screen, open Preferences → Pause and switch Full screen off. Your countdown freezes while a pause condition holds and resumes from the frozen value, so nothing is lost either way.

If reminders stop in full screen even with that switch off, that is a bug — let us know which app you're using.

Usually you don't have to. Since v1.2 Skopia pauses itself when your microphone is in use for a call, when a screen recorder is running, when something is holding your display awake for video, when one of your own deep-focus apps is in front, and when any app is in full screen. Each condition is a switch in Preferences → Pause.

To pause by hand: press ⌥⌘P from any app, or click the Skopia icon in your menu bar → Pause. Press or click again to resume.

Automatic pause freezes your countdown and both rest timers and resumes them from the frozen value — they never restart from zero. A manual pause resets the countdown when you unpause.

Quit Skopia from the menu bar icon → right-click → Quit. Then drag Skopia from your Applications folder to the Trash. That's it — no background services, no hidden files to clean up.

Not by default. To enable: click the Skopia icon in your menu bar → open Preferences → enable Launch at Login. You can also add it manually via System Settings → General → Login Items.
